Dagestan marks 88th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev
Baku, May 14 (AZERTAC). An event to celebrate the 88th birthday of national leader Heydar Aliyev was organized in Derbent city of the Republic of Dagestan, Russian Federation.
The event brought together Azerbaijanis living in Dagestan, educators and youth, Azerbaijan State Committee for Work with Diaspora said.
The speakers of the event were chairman of regional branch of the All-Russia Congress of Azerbaijanis in Dagestan Seyran Rahimov, first deputy head of Derbent Executive Power Tajaddin Sultanov, head of Derbent Education Office Nadir Kazimov. The speakers briefed on lifetime and activity of national leader Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan-Dagestan relationship.
Participants adopted an appeal to head of the Derbent Executive Power Imam Yaraliyev to name the central street of the city Sovetski after Heydar Aliyev, where Nizami Ganjavi`s monument and branch of Azerbaijan State University is located.
The event featured address of Imam Yaraliyev to participants.
