EFPM PRESIDENT VISITS AZERBAIJAN NATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE
President and Vice-President of the European Fair Play Movement (EFPM) Carlos Goncalves and Erdogan Arpinar visited Friday the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Azerbaijan. Khazar Isayev, NOC Vice-President and Chairman of the Azerbaijan Fair Play Movement informed the guests of the state care for sports in the country. He said the Azerbaijan Fair Play Movement’s purpose was not to allow violence, religious and racial discrimination in sports. According to him, the Movement supports the principles of justice in sport and protects the interests of sportsmen.
EFPM Vice-President expressed satisfaction with the fact that Baku will host the Movement’s General Assembly and Congress in 2009.
The event participants also heard a report entitled “Olympic values and Youth Education through Sports” delivered by the EFPM President. He stressed the Movement’s purpose is to protect justice and ethical principles in sports, and to achieve this aim youth should get a good education.
Afterwards, a press-conference was held with the participation of the EFPM President.
