FOREIGN MINISTRY OF SAUDI ARABIA DISSEMINATED STATEMENT
In the information received by AzerTAj from the embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Baku, it is stated that in respond to the statement which was disseminated on March 17 by the official representative of the US Department of State in connection with arrest on March 16 current year in the city of Riyadh of some citizens, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom has made a statement of the following: “We are disappointed from content of the statement of the representative of the US Department of State concerning the arrest of several citizens of the Kingdom for participation in actions of disobedience in which without the consent of known and popular persons in the society their names are mentioned. The statement sounded during the moment when our country needs clear sight and national unity, and is exposed to attacks of terrorists”.
Further in the statement, it is said: “The official representative of the US Department of State should better to consult to us, specify the facts connected to the said topic”.
The government of Saudi Arabia counts arrest of some citizens the question concerning the internal security, and states that the undertaken measures are connected to protection of safety of the country and interests of citizens”.
