FOURTH BIODIVERSITY COMPETITION IN AZERBAIJAN ENDED
The competition is part of BP’s and its partners Biodiversity Strategy in Azerbaijan.
This year’s competition also included innovation.
For the first time this year a second category – biodiversity articles and video materials- to promote environmental journalism, was introduced.
The judging panel has concluded that as none of 12 newspaper articles, 2 – scientific research paper, 2 – books, and one interactive computer application on CD fully met all the requirements of the competition this year, there would not be a 1st prize award.
The second prize and an award of $500 have been awarded to Sevinj Heydarova for her interview headlined “A City without Birds” and her article “The Tree Burners”.
The third prize and an award of $300 go to Nizami Huseynov for his article “The Problems o the Lankaran Coasts of the Caspian”.
