French magazine BeauxArts highlights activities of Heydar Aliyev Foundation

Baku, July 18 (AZERTAC). French magazine “BeauxArts” has published an article highlighting the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The article focuses on the foundation’s “Azerbaijan in Cannes” project, saying that thanks to numerous activities that promote rich culture of Azerbaijan Promenade de la Croisette was full of pearls of the Caucasus.

The article says that Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva is at the center of all these events. “If art is a mirror of a human soul, then Leyla Aliyeva is the face of the people. She is energetic, creative person always being in the search. She was born in 1985 to the family of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva. Along with the fact that she has devoted herself to her family, Leyla Aliyeva supports a number of charitable and environmental projects in Azerbaijan. Also, being the initiator of public campaign "Justice for Khojaly", she set a goal to bring the truth about the genocide committed in the town of Khojaly by Armenian armed forces against the peaceful Azerbaijani population on 26 February 1992 to the world. The Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has completely devoted herself to the art. Always friendly and positive, Leyla Aliyeva easily copes with the organization of various projects. In an effort to popularize the culture of Azerbaijan, she has assumed one of the leading roles in this direction.”

The magazine writes that Azerbaijan’s largest non-governmental and non-profit organization, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was established in 2004 to preserve and promote cultural values of Azerbaijan.

The article notes that: “humanitarian programs and projects aimed at developing education, health and science lie at the heart of the activities of the Foundation.”

"Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva is one of the main representatives of art in the country. She received education at the London College of Queen's, as well as the European Business School, one of the largest colleges of Paris. Leyla Aliyeva received a master's degree from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in 2008. At the same time she did not love art less. Leyla Aliyeva grew up in a creative environment since childhood. She received her education in the spirit of respect for ancient and rich traditions of Azerbaijan, known in the whole world. The pottery, carpets, gold products, which are examples of this culture are kept in the Louvre, Paris, New York Subway, St. Petersburg's Hermitage and London's Victoria and Albert Museum.”

The magazine writes that the modern art of Azerbaijan has been at the center of the attention of the world in recent years.

"The Museum of Modern Art, created on the initiative of President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva in 2009, embodies the vanguard of Azerbaijan. Fly to Baku project, which brought together nearly 100 works of more than 20 artists, was supported by Leyla Aliyeva. The exhibition was presented from Paris to Vienna, from Moscow to Rome and from Berlin to London," the magazine notes.

The magazine mentions that Mrs. Aliyeva publishes a number of works of art in the journal of Baku and draws design of monumental works.

BeauxArts says that Leyla Aliyeva is the author of Brain monument which was built in the shape of heart and reminds the sublime work of Niki de Saint Fall.

"This summer, the French audience will have the opportunity to see the world of Azerbaijan. Numerous exhibitions featuring the country will be on display in July at the Promenade de la Croisette of Cannes. Azerbaijan, located at the crossroads of Western and Eastern cultures, regained its independence in 1991 after leaving the Soviet Union. In this great week famous artists will exhibit their work, which in turn creates the opportunity to plunge into the rich world of art," the article says.
