Dear Mr. President,

I have the great honour to convey my sincere congratulations following your election for a new term as President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as wishes of success in the mission entrusted to you.

The meeting we had on the occasion of my visit to Baku on June 27th, 2013, represents an important moment for the dynamics of the relationships between Romania and the Republic of Azerbaijan. Our discussions have evoked significant opportunities for further deepening the economic cooperation on the basis of the Strategic Partnership, focusing on the energy and transport sectors, as well as for implementing new Azeri investments in Romania.

At the same time, the Freight Transport Corridor between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea project is a clear example of the importance which Romania attaches to the Strategic Partnership with the Republic of Azerbaijan for harnessing the potential of transiting goods between Central Asia and Europe.

I am convinced that these joint projects, as well as the resumption of the work of the Joint Economic Commission will contribute to the capitalization of the potential of our economic relations.

I take this opportunity to express my hope for further developing the dialogue at the highest level between our countries.

Expressing the hope that the relations between Romania and the Republic of Azerbaijan will continue to develop dynamically, please accept, dear Mr. President, the assurances of my highest consideration.
