Greek delegation visits Baku to showcase the country`s tourism potential

Baku, November 14 (AZERTAC). A Greek delegation led by Mayor of Thessaloniki, Yiannis Boutaris, is visiting Baku to promote Greece`s tourism potential.

Greece`s second-largest city, Thessaloniki claimed the title of “European Youth Capital” for 2014.

The Greek delegation held meetings at ministries of Youth and Sport and Culture and Tourism to explore ways of widening ties between tourism authorities and implementation of joint projects.

The European Youth Capital (EYC) is the title awarded to a European city for the period of one year, during which it is given the chance to showcase, through a multi-faceted programme, its youth-related cultural, social, political and economic life and development. The European Youth Capital is an initiative by the European Youth Forum, and the first capital was chosen in 2009.
