Greek portal highlights Azerbaijan`s National Flag Day

Greek karfitsa.gr news portal has posted an article highlighting the National Flag Day of Azerbaijan on November 9.
Written by Chairman of the “GALA” Greek-Azerbaijani Friendship Society Rashid Mammadov, the article provided an insight into the history of the tricolor flag, which is as one of the symbols of the Azerbaijani state.
The article noted that the tricolor flag was first approved during the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR), on November 9, 1918, and had a state status until the collapse of the ADR, while it was again recognized as a national flag of Azerbaijan on the eve of the collapse of the USSR.
The article also mentioned that in accordance with President Ilham Aliyev’s relevant decree, since 2010, November 9 has been celebrated as National Flag Day in Azerbaijan.
