Health Ministry delegation views activities of Latvian medical institutions

As part of its visit to Riga, capital of Latvia, an Azerbaijani delegation led by Health Minister Teymur Musayev toured the leading Latvian medical institutions, research centers and higher educational facilities to familiarize itself with their activities.
The Azerbaijani delegation met with the leadership of the Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration (RISEBA), one of the largest private higher education institutions in Latvia, where they were informed about the history and activity of RISEBA. RISEBA is a private university with more than 30 years of experience, which cooperates internationally, offering competitive education and prepares high-level specialists and managers in business and creative industries for work in an international environment.
The Azerbaijani delegation also visited the Emergency and Outpatient Clinic of Riga East University Hospital, as well as the Traumatology and Orthopedics Hospital. During the visit, discussions focused on the issues related to hospital infrastructure, the use of innovative medical technologies, and the possibility of exchanging experience in the areas of traumatology, orthopedics, and emergency care.
Furthermore, the Azerbaijani delegation familiarized itself with the activities of the leading Latvian pharmaceutical company "Grindeks", where the sides explored prospects for cooperation in pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality control, drug safety, and development of new drugs.
During the meetings at the Medical Education Technology Center (METC) at Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) , the Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences (FMLS) of the University of Latvia, as well as the Children's Clinical University Hospital, the parties exchanged views on the modernization of medical education, joint training in simulation centers, and scientific and clinical cooperation in pediatrics.
The delegation also met with officials of the Latvian Healthcare Employers` Association (VADDA) at the E. Gulbis Laboratory. The meeting discussed cooperation in the organization of laboratory services, expansion of diagnostic capabilities, and the implementation of modern laboratory standards.
