HEYDAR ALIYEV PARK OPENED IN BUCHAREST
Noteworthy that after the 1989 revolution in Romania, only to three outstanding political figures of foreign countries there were erected monuments - Charles de Gaulle, Mustafa Kamal Ataturk and Heydar Aliyev. Here, was created a memorial complex “Heydar Aliyev – nationwide leader of Azerbaijani people”, comprising sports grounds, musical fountains. Constantly are performed national music of Azerbaijan and Romania. Main entry reminds traditional national ornaments of shebeke style.
At the entry of Park, Mayor of second sector of Bucharest Nekulay Onsamu, chairman of the Romania-Azerbaijan Friendship Society Johan Pop de Popa welcomed the high guests and resident of capital city. Opening of Heydar Aliyev Park in Bucharest is vivid evidence to developing relations between the two countries, Mr. Onsamu emphasized.
President of Romania said opening in Bucharest of the representation of Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Park after the nationwide leader of Azerbaijan shows high level of friendly ties between the two nations. The two countries make huge efforts to create on Caspian and Black Sea regions zones of security and peace, Mr. Basescu stressed. At his words, his country attaches special importance to observation of such principles of international law, as territorial integrity and inviolability of borders of states.
President Ilham Aliyev congratulated participants of ceremony on the remarkable day in the history of Azeri-Romanian relations – opening of the Park after Heydar Aliyev – who devoted all his life to his people.
Speaking of the developing Azeri-Romanian relations, President Aliyev noted that Romania is the second country to recognize independence of Azerbaijan. He expressed gratitude to the Romanian leaders for support of the efforts of Azerbaijan in integration to the Euro-Atlantic structures, fair position of the country in the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Together with the development of cooperation in political and economic spheres, we actively work to develop humanitarian ties, the President said. Erection of monument to the Romanian composer George Enescu in Baku and opening of Heydar Aliyev Park in Bucharest are evidences to that. Head of the Azerbaijani State expressed confidence for further strengthening of friendly ties between the two countries.
