Houston hosts amateur chess tournament in memory of grandmaster Vugar Hashimov
Washington, February 17 (AZERTAC). An amateur rapid chess tournament in memory of Azerbaijan`s grandmaster Vugar Hashimov has been held at the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Houston, the U.S.
The tournament was attended by chess amateurs of various age groups.
A video on Hashimov`s life and activity was screened before the beginning of the tournament.
Student of the Texas State University Anar Omarov won the tournament.
The event was co-organized by U.S. Azeris Network (USAN), Houston-Baku Sister City Association (HBSCA) and Azerbaijani organizations in Houston.
