INDUSTRY AND ENERGY MINISTRY DELEGATION OF AZERBAIJAN VISITING TURKEY
The visiting delegation of the Industry and Energy Ministry of Azerbaijan led by minister Natig Aliyev has carried out series of meetings with the Turkish officials.
In meeting with the Turkish delegation led by Energy and Natural Recourses Minister of Turkey Hilmi Guler, discussed were issues of creation of legislation basis for transportation of Azerbaijani natural gas to Europe through the territory of Turkey. Parties, with participation of experts from each side, have widely focused on the works the Turkish and Azeri governments have done, resolve of forthcoming tasks, ensuring effective function of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export oil pipeline, increase of transportation of gas from Shahdeniz deposit on the Caspian, other questions.
Minister Natig Aliyev said signing by Turkey, Greece and Italy of the contract on pipeline to pass through seabed of the Adriatic Sea would promote to easily transport Azerbaijani gas to the European markets. Also was discussed the question of joining by Azerbaijan this contract to deliver 21 billion cubic meters of natural gas to be produced at the second phase in Shahdeniz field. Working Groups from each side are preparing the text of such contract to debate issues of infrastructure, price policy and taxes, Mr. Aliyev noted.
The legal process is said to be completed after SOCAR and Turkish Botash will sign a commercial contract.
