INTERNATIONAL EURASIA PRESS FOUNDATION BECOMES ECOSOC MEMBER
BAKU, August 6 (AZERTAC). At the meeting of ECOSOC NGO Sector, Azerbaijan’s International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) has become a member with consultative status of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
Further, the IEPF can be represented at UN, at the Headquarters of this international structure in New York, at its Geneva and Vienna Offices. Permanent representation at the United Nations will make possible to implement the Organization’s consultative initiatives more effectively and fruitfully.
With a special consultative status at the ECOSOC, the Fund will have right to take part at the international conferences and special events convened by UN General Assembly, on recommendation of the Council make short oral and written statements, carry out with the Secretariat’s officials consultations on the questions concerning GNOs.
