Italian website highlights Baku 2015 European Games
Baku, January 31 (AZERTAC). Italian "Informazione" website has posted an article about the inaugural European Games to be held in Azerbaijan in 2015.
The article says that 500 days are left to the Games.
It says it`s no coincidence that the European Olympic Committees has decided to grant the first European Games to Baku.
The article notes that the Games, with at least seven sports on the program, would be a qualifying event for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games.
The website hails preparations for the Games that would see more than 5,000 athletes contest the medals.
The article features quotes by President of the European Olympic Committees and Member of the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee Patrick Hickey, Azerbaijan Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov, and Chief Executive of the Baku 2015 Operating Committee Jim Scherr.
It also lauds the Azerbaijani government`s attention to developing sport and solving youth problems.
