JUBILEE SITTING OF CIS CULTURAL COOPERATION COUNCIL HELD IN MOSCOW
The 20th jubilee sitting of CIS Ministers of Culture opened in Russian capital of Moscow.
The event gathered seven out of twelve Ministers of CIS member-countries - Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan ( represented by one of the members of the Government).
Speaking, the Russian Minister of Culture and Mass Communications Aleksandr Sokolov noted the Forum would promote further strengthening of cooperation between the CIS countries.
He also said the new plan of actions for 2006 - year of CIS - would be drawn up soon.
Chairman of the CIS Cultural Cooperation Council, Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Polad Bulbuloglu spoke of the activity of the Council.
The CIS Cultural Cooperation Council was created in 1995.
The last sitting was held in Ukrainian capital of Kiev in 2003.
