Moldova’s Embassy in Azerbaijan backs Ombudsman Aurelia Grigoriu`s Khojaly Genocide remarks

Baku, July 8 (AZERTAC). Moldova’s Embassy in Azerbaijan has said it completely shares what Ombudsman Aurelia Grigoriu said with respect to the Khojaly Genocide during a speech at the Armenian Parliament in Yerevan next week.

Octavian Ionesie, charge d’affaires of the Embassy, said the Moldovan Ombudsman, whose life was at risk in Armenia, is now back to her country.

The Moldovan Ombudsman blamed the Armenians for murdering innocent people in the Azerbaijani town of Khojaly as she addressed an international conference at the parliament of Armenia last Thursday.

“It is Armenians who committed Khojaly Genocide,” Grigoriu told the European Conference on “Protection of Human Rights in Frozen Conflict Zones”.

“This is the fact recognized by the international community,” said the Moldovan Ombudsman, adding “Armenia continues to occupy 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands.”
