MOSCOW EXHIBITION ON TOURISM CONTINUES
Making comments on the course of work of the exhibition and results of the carried out negotiations, the head of the Azerbaijan delegation, the deputy minister of youth, sports and tourism Teymur Mehdiyev has told that the stand of Azerbaijan is perceived with big interest on the part of lines of the travel agencies participating in work of the exhibition. The Azerbaijan delegation has carried out a number of fruitful and useful meetings as with leaders of the tourist companies of CIS, Turkey, Iran, and the Arabian countries. As rather fruitful, T. Mehdiyev has named the meeting with chairman of Council of the CIS on tourism, minister of tourism of Ukraine V. Sibukh. During the meeting, wide exchange of opinions on deepening of cooperation both on bilateral and multilateral basis with CIS member states has taken place. Reached was an agreement on carrying out of the next session of Council of the CIS on tourism in May. Azerbaijan has initiated for carrying out of this meeting in Baku, and the question will be studied in addition.
During the negotiations, also was focused the issue on creation at the University of tourism of Ukraine of the Institute of Qualification Improvement of the CIS in sphere of tourism. Azerbaijan and other CIS partners have maintained this idea. This question is of great importance for Azerbaijan, so that the Republic feels shortage of the professional staff in this area.
Summarizing the carried out work, Teymur Mehdiyev has noted that participation in the tourist exhibition of our republic could be regarded as the positive factor in development of the national tourist industry, it is especial from the point of view of adjustment of contacts and attraction of attention to this sphere. Closer contacts to various state structures and private sector of economy, he said, would allow us to solve one of the primary goals - attraction of foreign investments, and also stimulation of investments into this rather new branch of economy on the part of private sector of republic. Wide mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of tourism will promote development of tourism, and also social welfare of people, to have essential economic benefit.
