Mustapha Abdou-Raouf: Colonialism is completely unacceptable in the 21st century

Baku, January 21, AZERTAC
“Our islands are enduring imperialism, and our peoples share a tragic fate. Oppression and dire conditions persist even today,” said Mustapha Abdou-Raouf, a member of the Collective for the Protection of the Territorial Integrity and Sovereignty of the Comorian Islands, during the conference titled “Réunion's Independence: View on France's Colonial Legacy and Path to Sovereignty,” held in Baku.
He emphasized that numerous international organizations have condemned France's colonial policies. "Despite this, our peoples continue to resist imperialist forces, gradually diminishing France's influence. Strengthening unity with our neighbors will enable us to break free from colonialism. To achieve freedom, we must fight on multiple fronts and enhance the solidarity of African nations," he stated.
Mustapha Abdou-Raouf also highlighted the importance of attaining food and energy sovereignty, underscoring: "Colonialism, including French colonialism, is completely unacceptable in the 21st century."
