NAM Youth Organization opens Research Center in Baku

The Research Center of the Non-Aligned Movement Youth Organization (NAMYO) was officially inaugurated in Baku on May 27.
Yalchin Rafiyev, Deputy Foreign Minister and COP29 Lead Negotiator, emphasized that the Center will contribute significantly to empowering young people to address global challenges by prioritizing their perspectives. He noted the Center’s crucial role in enhancing the scientific and technical capabilities of young researchers from NAM member countries.
Vladanka Andreeva, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, highlighted the importance of sharing knowledge and experiences to promote youth involvement in sustainable development.
Leyla Hasanova, Chairperson of NAMYO and Youth Climate Champion for COP29, expressed confidence that the Research Center would serve as a unique platform to transform the ideas of NAM youth into actionable knowledge and amplify their voices on the global stage.
The event included a video presentation showcasing projects carried out by the Center and a detailed overview of its main focus areas and annual activity plan by Kamilla Mammadova, Center Manager. Additionally, the official website of the NAMYO Research Center was launched during the ceremony.
