NATIONAL HOLIDAY OF INDIA MARKED IN BAKU
On 15 August, the Embassy of India to Azerbaijan arranged a banquet to mark the anniversary of country’s independence.
Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament (Milli Majlis) Valeh Alaskarov conveyed greetings of the Azerbaijan President to the ceremony participants, noting that the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and India equals to 50-60 million US dollars per year. According to him, Azerbaijan’s economy develops dynamically and the cooperation will cover scientific, industry, health, tourism, culture and other fields in the coming years.
Ambassador of India to Azerbaijan Bharath Raj Muthu Kumar spoke of the achievements his country gained during the independent years. India, he said, now has high achievements in economy, nuclear technology and space exploration. The Ambassador expressed readiness to cooperate with Azerbaijan in numerous fields.
State and governmental officials, international and diplomatic representatives accredited in Azerbaijan and public figures took part at the reception.
