National leader Heydar Aliyev`s 90th anniversary marked in Belgrade
Baku, April 29 (AZERTAC). A concert and exhibition commemorating 90th anniversary of Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the concert hall of the Cultural-Artistic Society “Ivo Lola Ribar” in Belgrade, Serbia.
The concert of Azerbaijani, Serbian and world composers` classic music and exhibition was co-organized by the Azerbaijani embassy and the Center of Azerbaijani Culture in Serbia.
The event brought together Serbian state and governmental officials, MPs, ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic corps, famous musicians and cultural figures, members of Serbia-Azerbaijan trade-economic chamber, Azerbaijanis living in the country and journalists.
The event opened by director of the Center of Azerbaijani Culture, professor of the Academy of Arts in the city of Novi Sad Zarifa Alizade, who said the concert and exhibition was a part of events dedicated to the national leader Heydar Aliyev`s 90th anniversary.
Addressing the event, counselor of the Azerbaijani embassy Javanshir Majidov spoke of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s life and activity and his role in strengthening of Azerbaijan`s independence.
He stressed President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues the political course founded by Heydar Aliyev, which backs to national unity, social justice, social welfare of people and Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
Famous Serbian singer Radmila Karaklajic, who has been in Azerbaijan for several times and personally knew the national leader, shared her memories with attendees.
The Azerbaijani embassy presented to the participants books in Serbian language dedicated to the national leader.
