OMBUDSMAN MEETS UN HCR REPRESENTATIVE IN AZERBAIJAN
The Ombudsperson informed the guests in detail on the programs under realization in the country in the field of protection and provision of rights of numerous stratum of society, including refugees and IDPs, AzerTAj said.
Though the government of Republic constructs new settlements for refugees, Ms. Suleymanova noted, it is inadmissible to reduce humanitarian assistance of the international donor organizations to Azerbaijani refugees. They are experiencing still hard conditions in the temporarily housed places.
The Ombudsperson considered necessary to visit the refugee camps and give a more precise definition to number of handicaps, adults and lonely olds among the refugees, solution of their problems.
Mr. J. C. Konkolato assessed the conducted democratic alterations last years in the Country, creation of Ombudsman institution as significant tools of development of democracy.
