OMBUDSMAN REPORTED AT THE PARLIAMENT
Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova in the report has noted: “From the first days of activity, the Ombudsman directly paid special attention to consideration of complaints and restoration of the infringed rights”.
During the period under review, Ombudsman received 4 thousand 500 references, 93,5% of which made complaints. 32,7 percent of these complaints concern infringements of the civil and political rights, and 67,3 percent - the economic and social rights. 6,6 percent of complaints have come from prisoners and members of their families, 7,1 percent - from military men, and 6,9 percent - from refugees and IDPs. The Ombudsman refused in consideration of complaints of 53,6 percent, and 46,4 percent have been accepted to consideration. 23,1 percent of the complaints accepted to consideration have been satisfied completely, and 5,8 percent - in part.
With a view of prevention of infringements of the rights of citizens in social, economic and other spheres, employees of the Ombudsman Office are sent on places, a special attention is given to educational work. With this purpose, the Ombudsman has created in regions local structures. For the even greater overall performance close cooperation with the state structures is carried out, and it pays special attention to development of the international links, has established relations with a number of the international Ombudsman institutes.
After discussions around the report, the Ombudsman answered their questions, after which the Parliament adopted appropriate decision.
