OPENING OF FOURTH SITTING OF THE INTER-PARLIAMENTARY COMMISSION
The co-chairman of the Commission, first vice-speaker of Milli Majlis Arif Rahimzadeh opened the Sitting. Having noted the high level and developing character of the Azerbaijan-Russian links in all areas, the first vice-speaker has emphasized, that for eight months of the current year in comparison with the corresponding period of the last year commodity circulation between our countries has increased by 47,5 percent. The number of the enterprises, the organizations with participation of the Russian capital in Azerbaijan makes above 350. 116 representations of the Russian enterprises and branches, 151 joint ventures and 82 enterprises with the 100-percent Russian capital are operating in the Country. Successful cooperation of the Russian companies is conducted in the field of fuel and energy complex, deliveries of the Azerbaijan oil on the oil pipeline Baku-Novorossiysk, and also delivery of natural gas from Russia to Azerbaijan.
Marking positive work in the field of inter-parliamentary cooperation, the vice-speaker has noted, that the basic attention should be directed on perfection of contract-legal base. Further, he has expressed the condolence to the people of Russia in connection with numerous human victims as a result of acts of terrorism.
Speaking about the problems concerning transition of the Azerbaijan-Russian border, Mr. Rahimzadeh has expressed hope that the Russian members of parliament would assist in concrete definition of prospects of the situation of the existing regime on borders. He also has stated a wish that the Russian side has cleared up the question on granting codes by "Rostelecom" for the mobile operator in territory of Nagorny Karabakh.
Speaking at the sitting, head of the Russian delegation, the first vice-chairman of Committee on affairs of the CIS of Council of Federation of the Russian Federation, the co-chairman of the commission Konstantin Markelov has expressed gratitude to management of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani people for the condolence in connection with the acts of terrorism, which have occurred lately in Russia. He has expressed confidence, that the compelled measures on toughening crossing the borders, undertaken by Russia, have temporary character. Between Azerbaijan and Russia, there are good arrangements on joint contacts in fighting terrorism, special services of two countries actively cooperate, and the complex of the certain measures which will allow to remove restrictions on crossing borders in the near future will be produced and at the same time to find opportunities for strengthening of safety on border, to stop opportunity to use border for transition by various groups of terrorist orientation.
