PACE spring session opened
Strasburg, April 23 (AZERTAC). The Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) opened its spring session where were elected its Vice-Presidents with respect to Malta, Monaco and Romania.
At the opening of the spring session, the President, Jean-Claude Mignon made reports on the functioning of the organization since its winter session.
The President briefed on his meetings with officials during the visits to Ukraine, Russia and Luxemburg. He said the critical situation in Romania was eliminated.
At his words, PACE decided to hold current affairs debate on Syrian refugees in Jordan, Turkey, Lebanon and Iraq: how to organise and support international assistance. The agenda was adopted.
Jean-Claude Mignon said the President of Germany Joachim Gauck and others, Prime Ministers of Georgia and Romania, Swiss Federal Council deputy head and Foreign Affairs Federal department head will make a speech in spring session. German President Joachim Gauck on his speech particularly underlined the importance of the reunification of Germany. He then spoke of Germany’s devotion to PACE, organization’s works towards its main values as the human rights and the supremacy of law. He also made a report on Germany’s integration into European countries, the country’s relations in the economic and other fields.
