PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV GREETS PARTICIPANTS IN CONFERENCE ON INTERNATIONAL TOLERANCE DAY
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a message of greetings to the participants in the conference on the International Day of Tolerance.
“Located along the great Silk Road, our country, which has been erected the temples of all divine religions, can be rightly proud of the unique environment of tolerance formed in it for the believers,” the President said in the message.
“Establishment of spiritual, political and legal tolerance requires realization of strategic programs in education, culture and other spheres of life of the society. From this standpoint, exchange of views on the problems of tolerance by representatives of all religious communities of Azerbaijan, is praiseworthy” he said.
The President noted that mutual respect and constructive cooperation being demonstrated by representatives of various confessions in Azerbaijan, is highly valued and allows the county to be considered as an example of tolerance for many others.
“Today, those who come out for the concept of clash and confrontation of civilizations can learn a lesson from the experience of Azerbaijan, the country having rich traditions of tolerance and playing the role of bridge between East and West,” President Ilham Aliyev said.
The President wished the conference participants good health, happiness and success in work.
