President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met with President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic in Munich.
Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic recalled her official visit to Azerbaijan, noting that the meetings featured a fruitful exchange of views. She said an Azerbaijan-Croatia business forum, which was held as part of the visit, contributed to the expansion of relations between the two countries, adding that the intergovernmental commission will boost the economic cooperation even further. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic said Croatia is keen to cooperate with Azerbaijan in the fields of energy, non-oil sector, information technologies, shipbuilding, agriculture, transport, infrastructure and other areas. She expressed Croatia`s interest in cooperation with Azerbaijan in the energy projects implemented by her country.
Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic hailed President Ilham Aliyev`s visit to the European Union as successful, adding that Azerbaijan works on a new document with the European Union. The Croatian President said this process will serve to develop relations between Azerbaijan and Croatia.
President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic invited the head of state to visit Croatia. President Ilham Aliyev said Azerbaijan-Croatia relations successfully develop in various fields. The head of state stressed the importance for the intergovernmental commission to focus on practical issues. Touching upon an important role of Azerbaijan in ensuring the energy security of Europe, the head of state said Croatia can participate in projects initiated by and involving Azerbaijan.
Highlighting relations with the EU, the head of state noted that Azerbaijan actively cooperates with the European Commission. President Ilham Aliyev underlined the significance of the bilateral relations in terms of strengthening Azerbaijan-EU relations. The head of state said Azerbaijan intends to expand cooperation with the European Union in political dialogue, security, technologies, energy, multiculturalism and other fields. They also touched upon the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Croatian President reaffirmed her country`s support for Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity in the resolution of the dispute.
