PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV OPENS HEYDAR ALIYEV PARK IN MARAZA

President Ilham Aliyev officially inaugurated on Tuesday the Heydar Aliyev Park in Maraza settlement in Gobustan.

The park has a total area of five hectares, and there are musical fountains, artificial springs, child`s swings and sports facilities in it.

The headquarters of the New Azerbaijan Party`s regional office are also located at the Park.

President Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva toured the park and laid flowers at the monument to nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev.

The Head of State then officially opened the Heydar Aliyev Museum.

He and the first lady viewed photo stands reflecting Heydar Aliyev`s life and activity.

President Aliyev signed the Museum`s Guest Book.

After that, the President addressed local residents.

“Azerbaijan`s national leader had always served his people with loyalty and dignity, and he had contributed to Azerbaijan`s development. … The nationwide leader saved Azerbaijan from difficult situation, and in 1970-1980 and 1990-2003 he put it on the path towards development. Today, this policy is being continued in all areas in Azerbaijan”, the President said.

He stressed, ”Azerbaijan is the world leader in the economic growth rate, and its internal political stability is strengthening and public order is being preserved”.

“Of course, socio-economic programs carried out in our country also gladden us. Thanks to implementation of these programs huge improvement and construction work is being carried out in the country, including Gobustan”, he continued.

“Two years ago there was nothing here at this site, it was empty. But today there are the beautiful park, museum, monument, youth house, art center and other objects here”, the Head of State underlined.

He said: “Today, I have laid the foundation stone of a new Olympic Sports complex to be built in Gobustan. I believe, this complex will be built and placed at the disposal of local residents in a short period of time”.

“A new road from Baku to Gobustan and further to the border is going to be constructed soon. It will breathe new life into the region”, Ilham Aliyev noted.

He went on to say that “practical measures are underway to eliminate unemployment and reduce poverty”.

“Now, we are capable to cope with any problem. There is a very good socio-political climate in Azerbaijan”, he said.

“Our positions in the region are being strengthened - both energy projects, oil and gas operations and transport and infrastructure projects make Azerbaijan stronger in all fields“, the Head of State continued.

President Aliyev also said: “Further implementing the Heydar Aliyev oil strategy will attract large-scale currency inflow in Azerbaijan. We will develop all fields. The state investment spending increases yearly, businessmen continue to receive loans - it is the third year in a row that nearly $100 million have been set aside from the state budget to these purposes”.

“Azerbaijan is occupying a firm position in the world, and is highly respected. We are initiators of a number of both political and economic projects, that strengthen our international relations and create better conditions for development of Azerbaijan”, he continued.

“However, we are aware of existing problems. The problems exist in social and economic spheres; in some cases we witness violations of the principle of social justice”, Ilham Aliyev underlined.

He stressed, “I want the people of Azerbaijan to live in prosperity. We have not yet achieved it, and that has both objective and subjective reasons. The dynamics, however, is positive”.

“Feeling the support of the people, we will continue to take decisively and with confidence all necessary measures to achieve that”, President Ilham Aliyev stressed.
