At Palanga airport, Mayor of city Alvidas Kirstukas welcomed the Head of the Azerbaijan State.
Then, the President of Azerbaijan was escorted to Klaipeda. Here, mayor of city of Rimantas Tarashkiavicus, heads of the State Harbor Administration and Association of Seaports welcomed the President Aliyev warmly.
President Ilham Aliyev has familiarized with activity of the Klaipeda State Seaport. During the meeting in the office building of port, president of Azerbaijan was informed on this non-freezing port on Baltic, being a major transport center of Lithuania where are joined important marine and railways following from the East and the West, and further - to Southeast Asia and on the American continent. The Klaipeda Port is a multipurpose port, where functions a company on repair and construction of the ships, the service on a cargo-business operation. Annually, by means of 19 large-sized cranes in port, about 30 million tons of cargoes are transported.
President Ilham Aliyev and members of the Azerbaijan delegation have toured territory of port, and visited on the oil terminal of the company "Klaipeda Nafta”.
Head of the Azerbaijan State wrote in the Book of Honorary Guests.
