PRESIDENT OF SYRIA BASHAR AL-ASSAD OFFICIALLY WELCOMED TO AZERBAIJAN
Baku, July 8 (AZERTAC). President of Syria Bashar al-Assad has been given an official welcome to Azerbaijan.
A guard of honor was lined up at the square decorated with the national flags of Azerbaijan and Syria.
The Syrian leader and his spouse Asma al-Assad were warmly welcomed by President Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva.
The two Presidents inspected a ceremonial guard of honor as a military orchestra played the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Syria.
Azerbaijani officials were introduced to President Bashar al-Assad, while members of the Syrian delegation to President Ilham Aliyev.
The Presidents then posed for photographs.
