PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN HIS EXCELLENCY MR. ILHAM ALIYEV
I thank You for the warm invitation sent to me to take part in the ceremonies organized in Baku on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the "Contract of the century”. Unfortunately, the work, which I carry out as the governor of state New Mexico, will not allow me to arrive on September 20 to Azerbaijan.
It is always very pleasant for me to recollect the meetings, which have been carried out during my work in the post of the secretary on power of the USA with the leadership of Azerbaijan, especially with late President Heydar Aliyev, our cooperation. It is confident, that his power policy has created a strong basis for steady economic development of Azerbaijan and transformation in forthcoming years of the Caspian region into the important global power source of the world.
I believe, that our cooperation in power sector will promote further strengthening of relations of strategic partnership successfully enough developing between the two countries.
Accept, please, my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of significant anniversary.
