PRESIDENTS MEET IN PRESENCE OF DELEGATIONS
Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Stjepan Mesic of Croatia continued their talks in the presence of the two countries’ official delegations.
President Ilham Aliyev said:
Esteemed Mr. President, esteemed guests, I cordially welcome you to Azerbaijan. I am convinced that your visit, our talks ahead here and documents to be signed will elevate our relations to an even higher level.
Political relations between our two countries are developing quite rapidly. I remember my visit to your country two years ago, and would say that our relations at various levels have been considerably expanded since then.
In the framework of your visit, new documents will be signed, and tomorrow, businessmen will come together for a business forum. It will also be an important means to develop our economic ties. In other word, I am sure that your visit will be successful, and will speed up development of our relations.
President Stjepan Mesic said:
Thank you Mr. President,
While meeting one on one, we have discussed a number of issues, and now we can hold wider discussions on them. Both sides have huge potentials, and political will for cooperation. Until now, however, our two countries have not had so many economic contacts. You were absolutely right saying that talks between our delegations will be successful and intensive, and naturally, the discussions will be continued during the joint business forum. I noted during the one-on-one meeting with Mr. President that we too have potential in a number of industries such as pharmaceutical, shipbuilding and construction industries, as well as in development of oil and gas reserves.
