PRIME MINISTER MEETS WITH ISRAELI DELEGATION
Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade met in Baku on Friday with visiting Israeli delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategic Affairs Avigdor Liberman.
The Premier highly valued his Azerbaijan’s economic cooperation with Israel. He noted that over the past years Israel has occupied leading positions in Azerbaijan’s foreign trade.
On the two nations’ good relationships in other areas, Artur Rasizade underlined, for instance, that not a single fact of anti-Semitism has been ever recorded in Azerbaijan, and that a great number of former residents of Azerbaijan now live in Israel, and are actively involved in socio-political life of the country.
Avigdor Liberman pointed out the necessity to intensify bilateral cooperation, and dwelt on the joint economic projects Israel could realize in Azerbaijan.
The parties also exchanged views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
Earlier on Friday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategic Affairs Avigdor Liberman visited the Alley of Honors to pay respect to the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, and, on behalf of himself and the Israeli Prime Minister, laid wreathes at his tomb.
