REFORMS IN AZERBAIJAN ARMY MEET NATO STANDARDS
Reforms carried out in the Azerbaijani Army meet NATO standards, stated representatives of the OSCE seminar on armed forces welfare held in Baku.
Deputy Chairman of the Milli Majlis Ziyafat Asgarov, Deputy Defense Minister Chingiz Mammadov, head of the OSCE Office in Baku Jose Luis Herrero Ansola, as well as representatives of foreign countries attended the seminar, organized by the OSCE Baku Office.
Chingiz Mammadov informed on the work done to improve social conditions of servicemen in Azerbaijan.
The Deputy Defense Minister also highly estimated President Ilham Aliyev`s efforts, saying he increased servicemen’s salaries and started giving welfare payments to the families of victims.
Jose Luis Herrero Ansola said that democracy must be not only in elections but also in army.
He said that army must be transparent like all other spheres, adding it requires a lot of finance.
