RUSSIA KEEN ON EXPANDING TIES WITH AZERBAIJAN

Vice-Prime Minister of Russia, Chief of Staff for the Cabinet of Ministers Sergey Naryshkin had a meeting Friday at the Russian embassy in Baku.

S. Naryshkin told of his meetings with Azerbaijani senior officials with respect to the fact that intergovernmental commissions resumed its operation and upcoming meeting of the commission slated for Mid-November this year.

He highlighted the need for completing the work to prepare the agreement on reciprocal protection of investments between the two countries.

On the high-level trade turnover, S. Naryshkin said Azerbaijan is one of the main importers of Russian-made machines and equipment.

The meeting was attended by chairman of the Milli Majlis standing commission on economic policy Ziyad Samedzadeh and Azerbaijani businesspersons.
