SAM expert to attend international conference in Istanbul
Baku, May 1 (AZERTAC). Research Fellow at the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Azerbaijan Republic (SAM) Mahir Humbatov will attend the 3rd Arab-Turkish Congress of Social Sciences (ATCOSS) “State, Society and Justice” to be held this week in Istanbul, Turkey.
ATCOSS III is gathering in a critical period for the region as the year 2013 will witness the works of rebuilding institutions and democratic transition in many Arab countries such as Egypt and Tunisia. In the context of major global developments such as the financial crisis and the Arab Spring, this process will also open new horizons for cooperation among Arab and Muslim countries. Issues of relationship between state, society and justice are brought to the forefront of discussions in the academia as well as policy-making. In this context ATCOSS III will focus on the relations between the state, society and justice. These relations will exceed political aspects and concern economic, social, cultural and scholarly aspects in realities of the Arab and Muslim worlds. These discussions carry an additional significance in the current world that is witnessing major economic crisis and changes in balances of power and in the region where we witness serious political, social and cultural changes.
The Azerbaijani expert will deliver lectures on “Economic and social justice in Islam” and “View of Arab-Turkish relations from the Caucasus and Middle East”.
