SEARCH FOR HELICOPTER CRASH VICTIMS CONTINUES
According to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, the search for MI-8T helicopter crash victims is underway.
The helicopter fell down 200 meters off the Khazar-4” floating drilling rig of the State Oil Company Azerbaijan while evacuating sick Gahraman Soltan oglu Asadov and accompanying him Zahid Shashkayev. Along with those two, there was a four-member crew aboard the downed helicopter.
Garadagh-7, PSK-21, Orion-26, Neftgas-10, Vikhr-7, Majik-1 and Geophisic ships as well as Chalgan-6 vessel with divers and 100-ton Shirvan-3, and 40-ton “Islam Karimov” crane ships were sent to the crash site. SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev and Minister for Emergencies Kamaladdin Heydarov also arrived at the scene of the accident.
Two dead bodies and the body of the craft were lifted from the seabed. Search operations are continuing.
