SOCAR opens three new fuel stations in Romania
Bucharest, December 30, AZERTAC
On December 31, on the eve of the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the New Year, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) commissioned three new fuel stations operating under the SOCAR brand in Romania.
The new stations were opened by SOCAR’s Romanian subsidiary, SOCAR Petroleum SA, in the Salaj, Suceava, and Satu Mare regions, increasing the company’s total number of fuel stations in the country to 91.
Ramin Aliyev, Chief Operating Officer at SOCAR Petroleum SA, stated that SOCAR continues to successfully implement investment projects and expand its fuel station network in Romania.
“2025 has been a successful year for SOCAR from a business perspective. We expanded our fuel station network in Romania. Although we initially planned to open nine new stations during the year, we are ending the year with 14. For 2026, we have ambitious plans to exceed the threshold of 100 stations. Our goal is to further strengthen SOCAR’s position in the Romanian fuel market,” he said.
As with all SOCAR-branded stations, the newly opened locations offer Nano 95 and Nano 98 gasoline, as well as Nano Diesel and Nano Super Diesel fuels. In addition, the stations operate “Nar” cafés, where customers can purchase local products as well as goods imported from Azerbaijan.
In line with the policy pursued by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to promote the “Made in Azerbaijan” brand, dedicated Azerbaijan corners have been established at the stations. Video materials promoting Azerbaijan are also regularly displayed on monitors installed at SOCAR stations across the country.
Currently, SOCAR operates 10 fuel stations in the Suceava region, three in Salaj, and two in Satu Mare. Overall, the company has 91 SOCAR-branded fuel stations operating in 30 of Romania’s 41 regions.
