KATEL is the first company in the telecommunications market of our Republic that has received the license for creation of wireless telephone system with use of the advanced digital technology, chief executive of the Joint Venture Sadig Humbatov told AzerTAj.
In the cities of Baku, Sumgait and on the Absheron peninsula already are available 10 thousand 650 subscribers of KATEL using wire and wireless kinds of communication. They are rendered high-quality services - voice communications, fax, modem and Internet. Joint venture KATEL which has concluded contracts with such known companies as Ustarcom (USA), InnoWaue (Israel), Alcatel (Belgium) and Cross (Russia), at present anniversary exhibition have demonstrated the equipment of the third generation of the CDMA-technology being better kind of communications. It allows the subscriber by means of the usual device, without establishment of the antenna on home, to use phone, fax, and also the high-speed Internet. On application of CDMA-technology, which the enterprise began to introduce one year ago by means of Chinese Company "Huawei", were spent means at amount of 5 million US dollars.
Further, CATEL plans to offer the services in all regions of the Republic.
