STATE NATURAL RESERVE OF MUD VOLCANOES TO BE CRATED IN AZERBAIJAN
More than 300 of 800 mud volcanoes in the world are situated in the east of Azerbaijan and in the area of water of the Caspian Sea. Many of mud volcanoes are found around Baku and Absheron peninsula and some of them were formed as a nature’s monument. From this point of view, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan decreed August 15 on creation of State Natural Reserve of mud volcanoes.
According to the decree, respective structures will deal with its realization.
