The world of sport turns its eyes to Barcelona
Baku, March 11 (AZERTAC). "Sport now plays an integral role in our society, it is an influential and major economic force. Having evolved over the past decade thanks to the arrival of new players, the world of sport needs to think about its own future now. It therefore gives me great honour to welcome representatives and influencers of sport for this third annual Global Sports Forum Barcelona," says Lucien Boyer, General Commissioner of the GSFB and CEO of Havas Sports & Entertainment.
"Create meetings, share ideas; these are the goals of this great event. I hope that by the end of these two days we have in some way found answers to the broad question: `Sport: What`s next? ".
For the third consecutive year, the Global Sports Forum Barcelona aims to be, for the two days (March 10-11), a unique place for debates and the sharing of knowledge. Forty speakers will welcome approximately 1,000 delegates.
Thursday, March 10th- the first day - will open with an exceptional round table discussion: “Women who make a difference in sport."
Alongside the French Minister for Sport, Ms Chantal Jouanno, sporting champions such as sailor Samantha Davies (United Kingdom), former football star Mia Hamm (USA) and the former Olympic ski champion Pernilla Wiberg (Sweden) will share their experiences and seek to define the role of women in sport.
One of the most hotly-anticipated debates will focus on "Athletes as leaders of social change". Featuring Brazilian World Cup-winning champion and Founder and President of Gol de Letra, Rai as well as Didier Drogba, captain of the Ivory Coast football team and ambassador for the Development Program of the United Nations, the discussion will attempt to explain what sport can bring to philanthropy and vice versa.
