‘THIS VICTORY IS DEDICATED TO AZERBAIJAN’, EUROPEAN CHESS CHAMPION VUGAR HASHIMOV

Baku, November 1 (AZERTAC). “This victory is dedicated to the whole Azerbaijan. I want to congratulate all the people of Azerbaijan, in particular, President Ilham Aliyev,” said international grandmaster Vugar Hashimov in an interview upon return from the European championship held in Serbia where the Azerbaijan team has won a gold medal for the first time in its history.

Captain of the Azerbaijan team Zurab Azmayparashvili said this achievement is the result of the great care the government showed to the Azerbaijan team.

Chess players proceeded from the airport to the park in front of the Heydar Aliyev Palace to pay respect to founder of independent Azerbaijan who has always paid attention to development of sports in the country.
