Tour of Taihu Lake cycling race almost done

Azerbaijan’s first continental team Synergy Baku Cycling Project is wrapping up the Tour of Taihu Lake in China, according to www.tourdeazerbaidjan.com.

The UCI 2.1 9-stage race is completing its 5th stage with 20 teams from across the world.

In yesterday's stage 8, the riders ended up completing 114 km. All of the Synergy Baku team members crossed the finish line with the second bunch of riders 10 seconds behind the leader -2:41:45. According to photo finish Elchin Asadov was the highest ranked among the Azerbaijani team - 7th place.

After 8 stages, four members of the team are among top 20: Samir Jabrayilov 14th, Aleksandr Surutkovic 17th, Elchin Asadov 18th and Maksim Averin 20th. Synergy Baku is ranked 4th in the overall table.

At today's stage 9 the cyclists will have to ride 90.4 km.
