On November 11, another phase of the “Euronews Academy” international training program, dedicated to “TV and live journalism,” began under the joint cooperation of the Media Development Agency and “Euronews,” one of Europe’s leading news networks.
Fernando Soares, Executive Director of Euronews in Baku, noted that the “live journalism” format is a new-generation media practice based on direct communication with the audience and emphasizing participation. The training program enables journalists to improve their skills in presenting events live, balancing factual accuracy with emotional impact. It was emphasized that this initiative is an important step in ensuring reliability and sustained public interest in the information space.
Deputy Executive Director of the Media Development Agency Natig Mammadli stated that raising the quality standards of television journalism and applying new technological trends are of particular importance in the modern media environment. He noted that such international cooperation projects contribute to the development of young journalists’ knowledge and skills, the alignment of national television content with international standards, and the creation of conditions for sustainable media development.
The four-day training program started in the Media Development Agency’s special auditorium at Baku State University with the topic “Preparation of television news, television reports, and live broadcasting.” Participants became acquainted with practical skills such as preparing news stories, structuring material for broadcast, and managing live connections, presented by Bojan Brkić, head of Euronews’ Astana bureau and a professional journalist and media manager with extensive experience in television broadcasting.
The training process continued with interactive lectures, practical assignments, group discussions, and analysis of television news.
The training program will continue until November 14.
