Turkey hosts 5th meeting of SMIIC General Assembly
Baku, December 5 (AZERTAC). Turkey hosts the 5th meeting of the General Assembly of the Standards and Metrology Institute for the Islamic Countries (SMİİC) in Istanbul.
Representatives of over 30 countries take part in the meeting.
On the sideline of the meeting, the attendees held a symposium titled “The impact of standardization on global economy”.
During the event, representatives of various countries made presentations and reports on the work done in the field of standardization and metrology, discussed issues of the role of standardization in the development of industry and economy, in efficiency, innovations and competitiveness, in protection of the intellectual property rights, etc.
The participants also focused on the SMİİC budget for 2014 and election of new presidency.
At the event, Azerbaijan was represented by a delegation of the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents.
