Washington hosts debates on Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh
Baku, April 30 (AZERTAC). Washington recently hosted debates on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. According to the press service of the Azerbaijani- American Youth Social Association, debates have been organized in partnership with Heritage American Foundation.
Chairman of the Azerbaijani- American Youth Social Association Vugar Ahmadov made a new presentation on the role of youth in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The speaker dwelled on a current situation in the conflict area, the attitude of Azerbaijani youth to this problem.
Ahmadov said, various international organizations involved in the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh problem, does not make much effort to resolve the conflict.
It was particularly noted that Azerbaijan is committed to the transatlantic values and integration into Euro-Atlantic structures and the United States are actively involved in the peace and anti-terrorist operations in the region. According to Ahmadov, the Azerbaijani society expects more from the U.S. contribution to conflict resolution.
Ahmadov stressed the negative impact of the U.S. - based Armenian lobby on the solution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh. The conflict’s settlement, according to Ahmadov, is also hampered by the U.S. Congress’ financial assistance to the separatist regime in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Members of Azerbaijani parliament Asim Mollazade and Jeyhun Osmanli also spoke at the meeting.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the strategic "think tanks" of the United States and regional experts.
