Yalchin Rafiyev: We intend to launch new D-8 centers in Baku

Last year, Azerbaijan was elected as a member of the D-8 Economic Cooperation Organization. Our country has taken vital steps within the D-8 in a short period of time, identified areas of cooperation, and strived to participate in reforms. We intend to open new D-8 centers in Baku. These include climate, transport, and media centers. Azerbaijan's initiatives within the D-8 express its determination and solidarity, said Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister and COP29 Lead Negotiator Yalchin Rafiyev during his remarks at the D-8 Youth Dialogue in Baku.
"Today's dialogue is dedicated to the development of youth and the formation of sustainable cities. The world is rapidly developing in technology and climate. We must fully participate in this process. Youth leadership is also crucial here. The D-8 Youth Dialogue means the representation of 350 million young people here. Young people do not only contribute to development, they are the architects of change. The D-8 dialogue provides a unique opportunity for the exchange of our ideas and recommendations,” he emphasized.
Describing the D-8 not only as a platform for economic cooperation, Yalchin Rafiyev noted that through discussions we will create a stronger and more flexible platform for our societies.
