Mongolia, Türkiye discuss expanding military education cooperation

Major General Gankhuyag Dagvadorj, State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Mongolia, received a delegation led by Erhan Afyoncu, Rector, Professor and PhD of the National Defense University of the Republic of Türkiye, according to Montsame.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on expanding bilateral defense cooperation, military education and training, as well as cooperation between scientific and research institutions.
Major General Gankhuyag noted that high-level reciprocal visits between the defense sectors of the two countries have become regular and expressed appreciation for Türkiye’s continued support in training and educating personnel of the Mongolian Armed Forces.
Professor and PhD Erhan Afyoncu expressed gratitude for the warm reception and the high-level organization of the visit. He said that the National Defense University of Türkiye is ready to work toward increasing the number of Mongolian military personnel and students studying at the university in the coming years and to cooperate in military history, academic and research fields.
He also briefed the Mongolian side on the university’s efforts to incorporate new trends into its curricula in response to rapid changes in military art, the nature of warfare, theories and concepts around the world. In this regard, he expressed readiness to expand educational and training cooperation between the national defense universities of the two countries and exchange experience.
