120 migrants arrive on Lampedusa

120 migrants on Monday were rescued from a 12-meter boat and taken to the Sicilian island of Lampedusa, according to ANSA. The boat's passengers are from Bangladesh, Syria, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Senegal and Sudan.
The men, including a minor, told rescuers that they had departed from Sabratha in Libya on Sunday night and paid between 3,000 and 4,500 euros for the crossing.
The passengers were taken to the local hotspot which is currently hosting 621 guests.
The prefecture in Agrigento with jurisdiction over Lampedusa transferred 210 people on Monday morning by ferry, which is scheduled to reach the Sicilian port of Porto Empedocle in the evening.
