318 SPORTSMEN TO REPRESENT FRANCE IN OLYMPIAD
The French team, which won at the Sydney Olympiad 38 medals and held the 6th place, will consist this time of 111 women and 207 men.
Minister of sports of France Jean-Francois Lamur, speaking about value of the Olympiad in Athens, has noted that year Olympic games in which 10500 sportsmen from 201 countries will take part, will be the most significant event in the history. The French sportsmen, too, were seriously prepared for this test and at competitions will successfully act in struggle for medals.
It has to be reminded that in 2000 at the summer Olympic games that have been carried out in Sydney, 13 from 38 medals won by the French sportsmen were gold.
